The 8th Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology (OCS),jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Personnel, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Guangzhou Municipal Government, will be held during 28th-30th December 2005 at Pazhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, Guangzhou..

Under the guideline of "Open to the world and serve the whole nation", OCS aims to establish a platform for exchanges of projects, investment, intellectual and information between overseas scholars and internal institutions, and now it has been the largest in scale, most-widely opened to the outside world, and longest since establishment. So far, seven sessions were successfully held and OCS works as one of the important channels for overseas Chinese scholars to return to China for their own business start-up. Guangzhou Convention of OCS in Science and Technology enjoys high reputation among scholars abroad and the annual event becomes a grand festival for them. OCS will act as a go-between for overseas Chinese scholars and internal institutions all over the country by keeping its tenet of "Open to the world and serve the whole nation". It will embrace all participants with quality services.

This year's sign-up requirement for overseas participants will be more strict, requiring attendants with Bachelor's Degree above and working experience in transnational companies or research institutes. The exhibition duration of the convention will be compacted from 3 days to 2 days. The site investigations are to be carried out on the third day.
