In order to promote mutual exchanges between Chinese and foreign students, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province offers to organize a 10-day youth exchange program for American Chinese students July this year.
About 30 outstanding American Chinese middle school students are to be invited to Guangdong to attend the program which includes short-term teaching and communicating activities held in the historically well-known Guangzhou No.7 Middle School and Peizheng Middle school of Guangzhou. Said the program also include get-together activities relating to the "Meet in Guangdong, Close to Asian Games" summer camp in Guangdong as well as the 2010 ˇ°China Root Seekingˇ± summer camps held by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council for overseas Chinese teenagers.
Aim of holding above activities and summer camps is to strengthen communications between Chinese and foreign students, to provide opportunities for overseas Chinese teenagers to come back to China to study, communicate and learn more about their ancestral homeland and its profound culture, especially the unique culture of south China. Meanwhile, through attending such amusing activities, Chinese middle school students involved are expected to learn more about foreign teaching and learning approaches, history and culture of foreign countries, and thereby improve their English.
The program features rich content, distinctive local culture, and dynamic teaching and learning methods including sessions, games, speeches and visits to places of interests.
